Educational Leader Wanted at the Human Sciences Area Office
The Human Sciences Area Office is seeking an educational leader who will primarily work with teacher education at the faculty and area level.
Approximately 45 employees work at the area office. The office, which consists of six different sections, is a department within Stockholm University's central administration. Working within the administration at Stockholm University involves qualified and responsible work at a comprehensive level with today's and tomorrow's education.
The workplace is located at the Frescati campus in the heart of the Royal National City Park in a dynamic environment among students, teachers, and researchers. The area office works both with the area board and with the faculty boards, from which most of the ongoing operational assignments come.

Job Responsibilities
As an educational leader, you will play an important role in the strategic work of developing and following up on teacher education programs. Stockholm University offers a wide range of teacher education programs and courses that equip students with the competence to work as teachers in various subjects, within different organizations, and for all age groups. You will work closely with deans, office managers, other educational leaders, and administrators within the faculty and area office, and will have contact with colleagues both at the natural sciences area office and at the university's central quality function. You will also have frequent contact with program directors and program coordinators at the area's institutions.
Your job responsibilities include investigations, quality work, expert support to institutions, management support, case handling, and referral work. You will be responsible for preparing materials for decisions and will present in working groups as well as in preparatory and decision-making bodies at the Human Sciences area.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a doctoral degree and experience in higher education teaching
- well-documented experience of working in the higher education sector at a comprehensive level with educational issues, preferably as program directors or in a similar role, and
- current and good knowledge of the conditions and prerequisites of teacher education.
The work places high demands on collaboration skills, analytical ability, creativity, independence, and efficiency. A good ability to express oneself well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English is required.
You should have leadership skills, a humble approach, and a good ability to create positive and trusting relationships with colleagues at various levels within the institution. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the Employment
The position is permanent full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
